Sola Scriptura

It is only in the Bible that we could find all the answers about our salvation, our God, His perfect will, about our faith. Bible is infallible, there should not be any error whatsoever in its contents.

The basis of Christian faith and doctrine are rooted on the Bible alone.

The Bible were written by human, in Hebrew (OT) and in Greek (NT), then the ones that we are reading now are the translated versions. How sure are we that there was no human error while writing and translating the Bible?

Don’t God reveals to us His will through other means?

What do you think?

You sure the Bible is infallible?

The Bible used by Jesus, his disciples, and the early Christian movement was the Septuagint (a.k.a. LXX). This was a Greek translation from the original Hebrew. It included a number of books that are commonly called the Apocrypha. These books appear in the translations of the Bible used by Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and some Anglican churches, but have been deleted in the translations used by Protestants and most Anglicans. One reason for this rejection was a passage which implies the existence of Purgatory. Thus, the range of books in the Bible which are to be considered inerrant is open to debate among Christians.

So which "Bible" is inerrant when different groups claim their "Bible" is inerrant? Which "Bible" is The Scripture? Which "Bible" contains The Ultimate Authority? Even Islam claimed inerrancy of their "Bible". There are many books in the world which claim to be inerrant. But they teach different and conflicting beliefs. Choosing one over the other cancel off the claim of inerrancy of that "Bible"...you can't claim with certainty that the Bible is without error when the claim itself is debatable. Even the range of books that should be in the "Bible" is debatable.

You cannot prove the inerrancy of the Bible...

    What do you think? :)

  2. How can there be any inerrancy in the Bible when every Scripture written are given by inspiration and God breath.

  3. The canonization of the Bible took more than 100 years by various councils comprised of main characters/ influential scholars in the churches of early ages. We are not to question their expertise and the integrity of their works. Those books that categorized as Apocrypha are the books of questionable authenticity, therefore not canonical and were not included. These Apocrypha books are genereally considered contained useful truth and informations but not divinely inspired.
The Bible is inerrant for the purpose it was written. To bring about the salvation plan, God’s redemptive purpose.
